Community fundraising

We build tools that build stronger communities.

Generation Web partners with community foundations and mission-driven organizations to build community fundraising tools — the giving campaigns and donor platforms that turn local generosity into real momentum for the place you call home.

Why we do this

Community foundations are how a region decides its own future.

We started building for community foundations because we kept seeing the same gap: deep local relationships, paired with software that was never built for the way foundations actually work. So we built it — and made it one of the two pillars our company runs on.

Who we partner with

Community foundations of every size, plus the mission-driven organizations whose giving flows through them — donor advisors, grantmakers, and giving-day organizers.

What we build for

Giving campaigns, donor-facing tools, and the on-ramps that turn good intentions into real dollars landing in real communities.

Why it's core to us

This isn't a side practice. It's one of two pillars Generation Web is built on — right alongside the web apps we engineer for businesses.

Tools we've built for the mission.

Each one is purpose-built for community fundraising — not generic donor software with the serial numbers filed off.

Generation Web has been a steady, dependable partner through every campaign, and their GenGives platform performs when our donors show up in force. The team is right there with us whenever we need them, making it easier for us to focus on what matters: supporting the nonprofits at the heart of our community.

Featured product · how it works

How GenGives works with a community foundation.

Whether it's a one-day giving event, a multi-week capital campaign, or a year-round donor portal, GenGives is the digital backbone — and our dedicated team is the partner that helps you run it well.

Step 1

Set up

A branded campaign hub, your funds mapped, and donor flows configured to your foundation's specifics. Live in days, not months.

Step 2

Run

Donors give, your staff watch a live dashboard, and funds reconcile cleanly. Match challenges, peer-to-peer, and incentives are all built in.

Step 3

Report

Post-campaign data, donor segments, and assets you can reuse next year — so every campaign generates momentum for the one after it.

We built this for you — not adapted from something else.

Foundation-native

Fund accounting, donor advisors, board reporting, restricted funds — modeled the way foundations actually run, not bolted onto generic donor software.

Proven on the ground

Campaign data that backs the claims. We'll show you what's working at peer foundations of your size and region.

Partnership, not SaaS

You don't get a login and a help forum. You get a dedicated team that helps you plan, launch, and learn — campaign after campaign.

Three ways to start.

One campaign

Campaign-specific setup

Stand up GenGives for a single giving day, capital push, or seasonal campaign. The lowest-commitment way to feel what it can do for your foundation.

Annual

Year-round partnership

Multiple campaigns, a donor portal, and strategy support across the calendar year. The default for foundations getting serious about digital fundraising.

Custom

Co-development

Donor advisor portals, planned-giving flows, integrations with the tools you already run — when you need something specific, we build it.

Frequently asked

Is our foundation too small to run a campaign on GenGives?

No. We've launched campaigns for foundations of every size — from giving days raising tens of thousands to multi-week capital campaigns in the millions. The platform scales down as cleanly as it scales up, and our team helps you size the effort to your reality.

How does GenGives handle restricted funds and fund accounting?

Fund mapping is core to how the platform is built — not bolted on. Restricted funds, donor-advised allocations, and board-restricted dollars are modeled the way foundations actually account for them, and we'll configure it to your chart of accounts during onboarding.

Do we have to use GenGives to work with you on community projects?

No. GenGives is our flagship product for community foundations running giving campaigns, but we also do custom builds and consulting for mission-driven organizations whose needs sit outside the campaign-platform model. Tell us what you're trying to do and we'll be honest about whether GenGives or a custom path fits better.

How long does it take to launch a first campaign?

A first campaign on GenGives typically goes live in a few weeks to a few months, depending on the customization your campaign needs. Custom builds and multi-campaign partnerships scope to their own timeline — we'll give you a real one after a discovery conversation, not a generic estimate.
